The Cycle Counts module lets associates perform inventory audits — counting assigned items as a blind count, with an automatic recount on any mismatch and automatic adjustments for confirmed discrepancies.

Page Overview
- Access this page from:
Main Menu > Cycle Counts.
- The cycle counting workflow is broken down into a multi-step stepper designed for mobile devices, but will work on desktops:
- Cycle Count Dashboard: View assigned count tasks and open one.
- Claim a count: Claim a batch of counts to work.
- Count items: Verify each item and enter your count (blind).
- Recounts & variances: A mismatch triggers a second count; confirmed discrepancies adjust automatically.
- Completion: Review your matched vs. discrepancy summary.
Cycle Count Steps
Detailed steps
1️⃣ Cycle Count Dashboard
The dashboard shows the cycle-count tasks assigned to your active warehouse.
- Sections: Tasks appear under Active (in progress), Today's, and Future. Finish active and today's work before future tasks unlock.
- Scheduled: Counts are generated from audit schedules, not created here — the app simply lists the ones assigned to you.
- Batches: Counts are grouped into tasks (batches of, by default, 20) by count type.
- Filter: You can filter the queue by zone.
2️⃣ Claiming a Count
Opening a task shows a summary of the items and zones it covers. Tap Claim to take it.
- Trip summary: Collapsible Items and Zones cards show what's in the batch before you start.
- Claim to begin: Claiming assigns the batch to you and opens the counting flow.
- One batch at a time: Pause keeps your claim; cancelling releases the batch back to the queue.
3️⃣ Counting an Item
Each task is a stepper with one step per count, plus a progress bar ("Count X of Y Complete").
- Confirm item & location: The screen shows the item and its location; scan to verify you're at the right item.
- Enter your count: Type the Current Count and tap Confirm.
- Blind count: The expected quantity is not shown — you count what's actually there. (Administrators can tap to reveal the expected amount.)
4️⃣ Recounts
The app double-checks any count that doesn't match the system.
- Match: If your count matches, it's saved and you move to the next item.
- Mismatch → count again: If it doesn't match, you're asked to count again to confirm (a second count).
- Two counts max: A count has at most two attempts; the confirmed result is recorded.
5️⃣ Variances & Adjustments
When a discrepancy is confirmed, the system handles it automatically.
- Automatic exception: A confirmed discrepancy creates a Cycle Count Discrepancy exception for review.
- Automatic adjustment: Inventory is adjusted to your counted quantity (logged as an audit adjustment).
- Resolved in Exceptions: Follow-up and review happen in the Exceptions module — there's no manual reason code or approval step inside cycle counts.
6️⃣ Completion
When every count in the task is done, you'll see a Cycle Counts Complete summary.
- Summary: Shows total items, total counts, how many Matched, and how many had Discrepancies.
- Keep going or stop: Choose Assign me more to take another batch, or Take me back to return to the dashboard.
- No sign-off step: Adjustments post automatically as you count — there's no separate manager approval inside this screen.
